"Succession" Season 4 Premiere Date Revealed + First Teaser
The much-awaited fourth season of HBO's extravagant Succession, winner of 13 Emmy Awards, will air its first episode on Sunday, March 26. The finale of the last season left many questions hanging in the air and the impeccable screenwriting team behind the show will get the opportunity to fascinate us once again in about two months time. Below I cite a brief synopsis of the new season taken from HBO's Official Website (Succession | Official Website for the HBO Series | HBO.com):
"The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed".
The Icelandic seasoned actor Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson is going to be a fresh addition to the cast along with Annabeth Gish, Adam Godley, and Eili Harboe. There is a controversy whether or not this will be the final season for the Roy's family saga, with the creator, Jesse Armstrong stating in the aftermath of the third season's finale that he is not in a position to provide a definite answer. As to how Logan's surprising decision in the final episode changed the show's nature and established dynamics, Armstrong responded: "It changes it. I’d be bullshitting you if I told you I knew exactly what was going to happen. We’ll follow the truth, and the business of that. I think succession in one form or another is very much still on the table".
Be patient for an additional two months and then relish one of the most spectacular family dramas that have ever aired on television. Here is the first teaser trailer for Season 4:
