Barry Forshaw writes: deeply saddened to hear last night of the death of Christopher Fowler, but glad I had a laughter-filled final meeting a few weeks ago; Chris’s eccentric and deeply characterful Bryant and May series was one of the glories of modern British crime Fiction. We talked about our Whitstable panel (as per the illustration) on his pre-Bryant and May days, before he began to write crime fiction.
