Based on Jens Lapidus's namesake novel, Top Dog is a long-awaited TV show for fans of Nordic crime drama and, at last, in February we will have the opportunity to watch the 8-part first season with English subtitles in the Walter Presents streaming platform. The story revolves around the collision of two totally different characters, lawyer Emily Jansson and ex-convict Teddy Maksumic, who agree to work together, each for their own reasons, when the son of one of Emily's most distinguished client's gets kidnapped. The cast is comprised of Josefin Asplund, Alexej Manvelov, and Jessica Grabowsky, and it should be added that the show won both commercial and critical appraise, thus making the English-speaking audiences all the more eager to relish it. Top Dog is the third installment in Lapidus's "Teddy & Emelie" trilogy with the Swedish criminal lawyer once again diving into Stockholm's murky underbelly to deliver an enthralling story featuring plausible characters. If you are familiar with the author's Easy Money saga (both the books and the films). then you know what to expect from this 2020 adaptation. The production team behind the series is the one that gave us the legendary Bron/Broen, thus everything seems to be in order for an exhilarating watching experience.
