MICRO-REVIEW: The Grownup

Short but dense.

This is a short, but highly-entertaining story with lots of suspense and creepy atmosphere looming in every corner. This little book, written by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl, Dark Places), is a homage to Henry James classic novel The Turn of the Screw, teasing the readers with the hint of supernatural involvement in the plot and having as a protagonist and narrator a female character who, as always in G. Flynn's novels, is a deeply troubled individual with a murky past. This story can be read in a little more than an hour and it leaves you breathless and eager for more. I recommend it without any reservation to anyone who enjoys suspenseful thriller/horror stories.
